General

 

 1.  Name

1.1   The competition will be known as the South Eastern Country Cup.

1.2   As it occurs, a company’s name can be used in conjunction with the above competition.

 2.  Tournament

2.1   Sanctioned by Pool Victoria.

 3.  Object

3.1   For the promotion of good fellowship amongst competitors and the advancement of the sport in general.

 4.  Eligibility of Players

4.1   For a player to be eligible they must;

4.1.1   be currently registered with the League/Association (that they are listed to play for) and must have played at least 50% of scheduled matches in that league and;

4.1.2   Played 50% of scheduled matches in the previous year.

4.2   Any illegal player/s must be brought to the attention of the Head Adjudicator before they play their first frame.

4.2.1   This frame will be forfeited and that player will be disqualified from Tournament.

4.2.2   The League/ Association will be fined $100 as well.

 5.  Teams & Registrations

5.1   Player names and addresses must be registered with Tournament Directors fourteen (14) days prior to tournament start date.

5.2   Leagues/Associations must also supply a copy of all players’ statistics to prove they have played enough matches in the previous season.

 6.  Player Code of Conduct

6.1   Players are to play all games in good spirit.

6.2   Any player acting in a threatening or abusive manner will front a Tribunal Committee immediately.

6.3   This Committee will be consisted of a Chairman which will be chosen by host League/Association and 5 other delegates who are from Leagues/Association not involved in the incident.

6.4   The Tribunal Committee will decide any punishment they feel necessary.

 7.  League/Association and Team Fees

7.1   Fees are $400 for both affiliated and non-affiliated leagues.

7.2   Fees will rise and fall depending on cost incurred.

 8.  Meetings

8.1   To be held on Saturday morning of tournament at the venue at 8.00am.

8.2   All teams are to have a delegate at the meeting to conduct business as requested.

 9.  Special Meetings

 9.1   To be attended by Presidents or an appointed delegate from the leagues executive (Vice President, Secretary or Treasurer).

9.2   Notice of meeting to be written notice with a minimum of 28 days.

10. Dress Code

10.1   All players are to have their League/Association Team shirt with collar.

10.2   Black/ dark slacks or skirts must be worn.

10.3   Black dress shoes must be worn.

10.4   No hats or caps permitted.

10.5   If a player is not in the proper attire they will not be permitted to play.

10.6   Players may contact Committee to request exemptions before tournament begins.

10.7   If teams bring in a replacement player at short notice player is exempt from these rules.

11.  Holding of Tournament

11.1  Pool Victoria Affiliates and Non-Affiliated Leagues/Associations may host the Country Cup.

11.2  Leagues/Associations will host the Country Cup for 1 year.

11.3  Next host Leagues/Associations will be decided at a Special Meeting.

12.  Number of Teams

 12.1  All leagues eligible to field 2 teams.

 12.2  If a league is unable to field a team it can be offered to another Leagues/Associations by the host Leagues/Associations.

12.3  Total number of teams to not exceed 20.

13.  By Law Alterations

13.1  All By law alterations must be in writing to host League/Association at least 14 days before Tournament start.

 

Rules of Competition


14.  Team Composition

14.1  Maximum of ten players per team, with seven players to play per round.

15.  Official Rules

15.1  Games will be played with the Official Rules of the World Eight Ball Federation, as used by Pool Victoria and the Australian Eight Ball Federation.

16.  The Break

16.1  Teams will toss for the first break and then alternate.

17.  Teams Drawn

 17.1  At the end of the Round Robins if 1st and 2nd or 3rd and 4th are on the same Premiership Points and Percentage then they will have a playoff to be played on 2 tables.

 17.2  The play off will be same format as played throughout the Tournament.

18.  Late Arrivals

18.1  If a team is not ready to commence play at 9:00am they will forfeit a frame every 15 minutes.

18.2  After 4 frames lost the match is deemed a forfeit (7-0).

 

Finals

 

19.  Final 4 Format

19.1  The top 2 teams from each division will be eligible for finals.

19.2  The two teams that came 1st will play each other in a qualifying final.

19.3  The winner to proceed to the Grand Final and the Loser to play in the Preliminary Final.

19.4  The two teams that came 2nd will play each other in the Elimination Final.

19.5  The winner will proceed to the Preliminary Final and the loser will be eliminated from the Finals.

19.6  The winner of the Preliminary Final will proceed to the Grand Final with the loser being eliminated from the Finals.

20.  Final 8 Format

20.1  The top 4 teams from each division will be eligible for finals.

20.2  1st plays 2nd in Quarter Finals, the winner going into 1st spot in the next lot of Finals once both divisions combine (Qualifying Finals).

20.3  The loser goes into the Semi Final. 3rd plays 4th in Quarter Final, winner goes to the Semi Final, loser is eliminated.

20.4  The two teams that came 1st in the Quarter Final from each division will play each other in a Qualifying Final. The winner to proceed to the Grand Final and the loser to play in the Preliminary Final.

20.5  The winner of the two Semi Finals will play each other in the Elimination Final. The loser will be eliminated.

20.6  The winner of the Elimination Final will go through to the Preliminary Final, and the loser will be eliminated.

20.7  The winner of the Preliminary Final will proceed to the Grand Final with the loser being eliminated from the Finals.

21.  Number of Tables

21.1  All finals except Grand Final will be played on 2 tables.

21.2  The Grand Final is to be played on 1 table.

21.3  Once a team reaches 7 the final stops.
